Mental Health Application for International Governmental Organization

Case Study: Mental Health Support Solution for an International Governmental Organization

August 13, 2024

Background

Trigyn’s client was is an international governmental organization (IGO) that routinely deploys staff to stressful environments including conflict and disaster zones. The client recognized that its personnel often face significant mental health challenges during deployments, including high-stress levels and potential exposure to trauma which can lead to a wide range of issues such as insomnia, anxiety, depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Although the client offered mental health resources to its staff, there was a recognition that stigma and other barriers to care often prevent individuals from seeking the help they need. Recognizing these challenges, our client sought to develop a comprehensive digital mental health platform to support the well-being of personnel before, during, and after deployments.

The client engaged Trigyn to work with its staff and medical experts to develop a digital platform which included online and offline features which could be accessed through mobile devices.

The primary objectives of the digital mental health platform empathetically and effectively support staff by:

  1. Lowering barriers to staff needing mental health support,
  2. Encouraging control of the personal mental health,
  3. Overcoming stigma associated with mental health by offering self-care options,
  4. Fostering resilience among staff,
  5. Making mental health resources readily available and accessible to all users in online and offline modes,
  6. Promoting self-assessment and monitoring of mental health status, and
  7. Providing a variety of support resources related to mental health care and training.
