Job Description:
Our client – a major gas utility based in the Philadelphia, PA area – is looking for an experienced QA Analyst to work HYBRID.
Responsibilities include:
• Work with Project Managers, Subject Matter Experts, Developers, and other QA team members to gather system requirements and any other pertinent documentation necessary to conduct SQA activities. Review and analyze Requirements Specifications for completeness, consistency, and clarity.
• Design and deliver Project Test Plans for various projects to outline Test Strategy, Test Objectives, Test Efforts, and other testing-related components necessary to achieve required level of quality within allocated time and budget.
• Design and develop Test Functions, Test Cases, Test Specifications, and Test Scripts (both manual and automated) to be utilized during the System, Integration, Regression, Acceptance and Performance testing.
• Prepare, analyze, and maintain Test Data.
• Execute Test Scripts (both manual and automated) and perform other required Verification and Validation Activities in accordance with the Test Plan; conduct ad-hoc and exploratory testing, when applicable. Document test results.
• Identify, log, manage and analyze defects and project issues.
• Prepare defects status and other various testing reports, including requirements traceability matrix to review with software developers, subject matter experts, project managers, stakeholders, and other project team members to monitor defects resolution and disposal.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality of the processes and products throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Design, track and collect metrics to monitor project and product quality. Ensure the software development process and the final delivered product adhere to established standards and meet requirements and customers’ expectations.
• Make recommendations to improve quality of products, processes, and services.
• Perform other duties and activities as specified by the Quality Assurance Manager.
Minimum skills and experience - all are required:
• Minimum 5 years of relevant hands-on experience in the Software Quality Assurance/Testing area.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant hands-on experience working with the automated testing tools (i.e., Quality Center/ALM, Unified Functional Testing (Quick Test Professional), Performance Center (Load Runner), Selenium, etc.)
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in querying databases with SQL
• Minimum 1 year of development experience in any programming language – preferred
• Working experience in the utility/operations field is desired
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related area of study, or demonstrated equivalent work experience, required.
